The Tree, Part I

Somewhere in the middle of the country, a fierce domestic orange tabby prowls the edge of his territory.  Going on the fourth year of life, he has yet to make a decent contribution to his family, and is shamed by this.  An old elm tree slopes ever so gently to the south, giving him a [...]

Friday Catblogging

A more fashionable way to reach hell than a handbasket.
This little demon has discovered the art of hairball puking this week.  An undigested clump of grass the size of a toddlers fist.  Oy.  I feel for the little guy.  I can’t imagine what that felt like. But, it was disgusting. His outside time is getting [...]

Books

There is just not enough time in the day to read everything I want to. My GoodReads.com “to read” list is bursting at 42 books. And stumble across a book review almost everyday that I contemplate adding that book to the list. My amazon.com wish list of books is also bursting. One day, [...]

Corner Cafe

Last night we ate at a little cafe that we always believed to be just a coffee house, but discovered is actually a little Italian cafe.  The daily menu includes standard apps like bruchetta, pears and cheese, antipasto, and also several types of panninis.  Every Friday they offer a full meal, and it rotates between [...]
