There are many different types of bus people, but today there were four:
1) Those that shun the umbrella for the fast and easy raincoat
2) Those that tuck their umbrella between their feet on the floor
3) The a-hole who puts their umbrella in the seat next to them, without regard for passengers who come after them
4) [...]

Friday Cat Blogging
I’m sorry, I forgot to reinstate Friday Catblogging once my work crazies died down.
As you can see, Sam’s new jungle gym is made for more petite cats than him.

New Music
I was contemplating buying new music CD’s this weekend with a 40% off coupon. We haven’t purchased any music in over a year, and not much the past few years.
I asked friends for recommendations. Listened to countless artists on Amazon sampler, and narrowed my choices down to these:
The Raconteurs
Matt Costa
Sara Bareilles
But the more [...]

Two Miles
I’ve been working out 5 times every week for the past month (before that it was only 3 times a week). I go in early, which I never thought would work for me, but it does.
I’m proud to say I’m back up to a consistent two miles!
But the past few runs have had some pain [...]

Oh Bother
Once upon a time, my family lived in city where the houses are spaced close together. About a foot of grass separated our house from the neighbor’s narrow driveway and their house.
When I was in fifth grade, we got new neighbors, who owned something like a zillion Harley-Davidsons, liked to smoke outside, play loud [...]

Daylight Savings Benefits
We went from catching the bus in morning daylight (which I loved), to being back in the pitch darkness. However, we found one benefit this morning – star gazing. Yep, that’s right. We star gaze while waiting for the bus at 6:25 am. Isn’t that romantic?

Pity Party/Pathetic Post
Alliterations galore, and yet it doesn’t lift my spirits.
Well, it’s been kind of crappy lately. I can’t remember the last time I only worked 40 hours in a week, we haven’t found a house and are thinking about scrapping that idea for another year, and yesterday I cried for a bit because I [...]

Warm Weather Cat
Yesterday got into the 60’s, so I took Samwise out on his leash for a walk around the yard. He explored EVERYTHING, and we stayed out for 45 minutes. Scratched lots of trees (and when he came inside and scratched his post, he was like, depressed), ate some dead grass, the usual.
Then he cried and [...]

Pi Day – Apple Pear Five Spice
Last week Friday, March 14, was Pi Day. In honor of this, I made an Apple-Pear Five Spice Pie.
It tasted like a mildly spicy baked apple, which is to say, good. However, you couldn’t taste the pear, and in reality, it’s much easier and faster to make baked apples, so I don’t think [...]

New Perch
Samwise’s life has significantly improved the past few weeks because I found this contraption at an unbelievable price. He’s in love with it.
Actually, the unspoken price is sweatshop labor, carbon emissions out the wazzo to produce and ship it around the world, and all that jazz. All so that my cat can scratch something and watch [...]
